Our Suitenhotel
46 suites. One family. One conviction.
A house built from the start for real rest — with suites that give you room, in the heart of Baden-Baden's spa quarter, with direct access to the Caracalla Therme.
A decision that shaped everything.
Rainer Bender built this hotel with one clear conviction: people who travel to rest need space. So 46 suites went up, each from 35 m², instead of 120 small rooms. That was 2004. And it still shapes everything we do here.
From the start, that meant something else too: quiet. No bar, no parties, no noise. In the evening, you hear the birds in the garden.
Today Katharina Bender runs the house — together with a team that lives this idea every day.
The people who carry this house.
Some of our staff have been here for years, some trained at Aqua Aurelia and stayed. The connection with guests grows naturally — on the floors, at reception, in the restaurant.
Suites only. From 35 m².
A choice Rainer Bender made deliberately. Where other hotels would have packed in 120 small rooms, Aqua Aurelia has 46 suites — each with its own living area. Room for two, without getting in each other’s way.
“The suites earn their name. They are genuinely spacious.” — Guest review, TripAdvisor
5,000 m² of thermal water.
Two spas. Right at the door.
Aqua Aurelia sits in the heart of Baden-Baden’s spa quarter — and you feel it. The Caracalla Therme is reached through our underground passage: bathrobe on, two minutes, warm water. The Friedrichsbad — one of Europe’s most beautiful historic baths — is a five-minute walk away.
3,000 m² of thermal water. The Roman-Irish ritual. Both within easy reach.
And because we don’t run our own spa: you only pay for what you actually use. No hidden surcharges.
“The best thing was simply slipping from the room straight into the warmth, in a bathrobe. That’s real luxury.” — Guest review, Booking.com
Responsibility you don’t see — but feel.
A solar thermal system covers 70 % of all our hot water. The building’s controls put energy where it’s needed, and only there.
At breakfast, we work with regional producers — short journeys, real flavour. We sort, we reduce, we keep thinking ahead.
No grand promises. Just part of how we work, in the things you don’t see.
So that arriving works for everyone.
Aqua Aurelia is built so that guests with limited mobility can move freely from the moment they arrive: a step-free ramp into the hotel, a lift to every floor, level-access showers, shower stools, an accessible toilet next to the restaurant.
The hotel is certified under “Reisen für Alle” — full measurements, door widths and details are in the accessibility document, available to download in German and English.
But the most important part is the team. Carrying luggage, helping at the buffet, reserving the wider parking space, explaining the air conditioning, doing check-in right there — all of this is simply done. You only need to ask. We are small enough to attend to each guest individually. And we like doing so.
If you have specific questions before booking — just give us a call. Together we’ll find what suits you.
