Strolling & enjoying.
Old town, cafés, Lichtentaler Allee.
From the hotel, you reach the old town with its boutiques and cafés in a few minutes. The Lichtentaler Allee runs two kilometres along the Oos to the Kloster Lichtenthal — our favourite walk, the one we recommend to almost every guest.
Where to find the best cake, which weekly market is worth a look, and why you should walk down Sophienstraße once in the evening — we share it with you here.
Our recommendations.
Kloster Lichtenthal & Café Lume.
“You walk through the town centre, let your thoughts settle, and simply arrive at the monastery café.”
At the end of the Lichtentaler Allee, on foot. The whole way takes about half an hour — past the museum mile, fountains and old trees.
Lichtentaler Allee.
Our favourite walk — the one we recommend to almost every guest. 2,3 km along the Oos, from Goetheplatz past the museum mile to the Kloster Lichtenthal. Five minutes from the hotel to the start.
Walks & parks.
Gönneranlage.
Linked to the Lichtentaler Allee by the Josephinenbrücke — an Art Nouveau garden with the Josephinenbrunnen fountain and around 400 varieties of rose. At its best between May and October.
Rosenneuheitengarten.
At the foot of the Beutig, reached via Moltkestraße. The Baden-Baden parks office holds the International New Roses Competition here each year — if you like gardens, the detour is worth it.
