Black Forest, Merkur, hiking trails — straight from the front door.
The Black Forest begins at the edge of town. Baden-Baden's local mountain, the Merkur, is reached by funicular. The Panoramaweg — voted Germany's most beautiful hiking trail — starts right at the hotel. And if you play golf, two courses are nearby.

Merkur.
Baden-Baden's local mountain. Reached by funicular or on foot via one of the panoramic hiking trails. At the top: a wide view over the town and the Black Forest — and the Merkurstüble for a break.
Altes Schloss.
On the slope of the Battertfelsen — for centuries the seat of the Margraves of Baden. The ruin is freely accessible; from the highest tower, the view stretches across the Black Forest and the Rhine plain. The circular walk via Ritterplatte and Battertfelsen is worth doing.
Sport & events.
Golf in and around Baden-Baden.
Two courses nearby. The Golfclub Baden-Baden sits at the foot of the Fremersberg — hillside layout, 18 holes, with its own clubhouse restaurant. Larger site: Golfclub Soufflenheim, 25 minutes by car, with 6-, 9- and 18-hole courses.
Galopprennbahn Baden-Baden Iffezheim.
Three racing events a year: the spring meeting (May/June), the Große Woche (August/September) and the Sales & Racing Festival (October). Horses, elaborate hats, the grandstand or right at the rail.
